H.H. Pope Tawadros II Visits Baheya Hospital, Specialized in Breast Cancer Treatment and Psychological Support
زار قداسة البابا تواضروس الثاني اليوم مستشفى بهية المتخصصة في علاج سرطان الثدي والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للمرضى من النساء والاكتشاف المبكر للمرض.
كان في استقبال قداسته والوفد المرافق السيدة ليلى سالم عضو رئيس مجلس أمناء مؤسسة بهية، وحفيدة السيدة بهية وهبي صاحبة فكرة ومؤسسة مركز علاج سرطان الثدي بالمجان. والسفيرة نبيلة مكرم المدير التنفيذي للتحالف الوطنى للعمل الأهلى وقيادات المستشفى حيث تم تقديم عرض عن تاريخ إنشاء
المستشفى والأقسام الموجودة فيها، وطريقة العمل وتم التأكيد على مجانية الخدمة المقدمة للجميع. ثم تفقد قداسة البابا المستشفى وبارك المرضى الموجودين.
وألقى قداسته كلمة اشاد فيها بالدور الإنساني الذي تقوم بها، وتقديم العلاج بالمجان لجميع المرضى، وأثنى كذلك على الأسلوب الراقي والمعايير المهنية التي تتعامل بها المستشفى مع المترددين عليها، والذي يتسم بالانسانية والكرامة منوهًا إلى أهمية التعاون بين مؤسسة بهية وأسقفية الخدمات العامة والاجتماعية تحت مظلة التحالف الوطنى للعمل الاهلي.
رافق قداسة البابا خلال الزيارة نيافة الأنبا يوليوس الأسقف العام لمصر القديمة، وأسقفية الخدمات العامة والاجتماعية والراهب القس عمانوئيل المحرقى مدير مكتب قداسة البابا، والقمص رافائيل ثروت نائب أسقف الخدمات والقس أنطونيوس صبحي استشاري تطوير البرامج بالأسقفية والأستاذة الدكتورة غادة برسوم نائب رئيس مجلس أسقفية الخدمات والدكتورة رانيا سليمان مدير برنامج الصحة بالأسقفية والشماس چوزيف رضا من سكرتارية قداسة البابا.
Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II visited Baheya Hospital, a specialized institution dedicated to the treatment of breast cancer, as well as the provision of psychological and social support for female patients and the early detection of the disease.
His Holiness and the accompanying delegation were received by Mrs. Laila Salem, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Baheya Foundation and granddaughter of Mrs. Baheya Wahby, the founder and visionary behind the free breast cancer treatment center. Also present was Ambassador Nabila Makram, Executive
Director of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, along with the hospital’s leadership team. During the visit, a presentation was delivered outlining the hospital’s history, its various departments, and its operational model, with emphasis placed on the fact that all services are provided free of charge to patients. His Holiness then toured the hospital and offered his blessings to the patients receiving treatment.
During his visit, Pope Tawadros delivered a speech in which he praised the hospital’s humanitarian mission and its commitment to providing free medical care to all patients. He also commended the hospital’s
distinguished approach and professional standards in dealing with visitors and patients, noting that its services are characterized by dignity, compassion, and respect. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Baheya Foundation and the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.
Accompanying His Holiness during the visit were H.G. Bishop Yolyos (General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services), Monk Fr. Emmanuel Al-Muharraqy (Director of the
Papal Office), Fr. Rafaeel Tharwat (Deputy of the Bishopric of Social Services), Fr. Antonious Sobhy (Program Development Consultant at the Bishopric), Professor Dr. Ghada Barsoum (Vice Chair of the Bishopric’s Board), Dr. Rania Soliman (Director of the Health Program at the Bishopric), and Deacon Joseph Reda from the Secretariat of His Holiness the Pope.
