"Promoting young leaders capacity in the field of human rights and CSOs management"
MAAT for Peace, Development and Human Rights launched its training program entitled "promoting young leaders capacity in the field of human rights and CSOs management", targeting 30 young graduates from relative fields to social and political sciences. The two months program to be implemented during February – March 2017 includes two components, the first component entitled "human rights and democracy", aims at increasing the youth awareness and capacity on human rights perspectives, international mechanisms to protect human rights, the universal periodic review, the CSOs participation in the mechanisms, political participation and elections, CSOs work nature, roles, types and governing laws.

The second phase of the training program seeks to build the youth capacity on the basic tools to be mastered for enabling them to be qualified for working in civil society organizations, including methodological basis for studies and researches preparation, reporting and public policy papers writing, monitoring and documentation, project proposal writing, and project management.

The training program includes a practical component represented in research conduct, policy papers and reports writing, and legislative proposal preparation, it is expected that the trainees whom successfully pass the training program would obtain an opportunity to complete an internship at MAAT headquarter, to be hired as permanent staff members upon the completion of the internship.

The initiative comes in the context of MAAT interest in building the youth capacity to effectively involve in the civil society work, along with enriching it with a distinguished group of young leaders, via providing them with skills, knowledge and capacity qualifying them to actively contribute to public work in Egypt. The initiative also comes in the context of MAAT voluntary efforts to promote communication with the international mechanisms to protect human rights, along with spreading community awareness of the UPR to different groups of beneficiaries.
